Okay i have a laptop (Fujitsu-siemens amilo pi1536) it's fully compatible with Windows7 ofcourse and Microsoft updates had all the software drivers for it... but when i reformatted my disk recently, it was fine except!... ATI X1400 drivers. Results were awfull 1024x768 resolution and really blurry letters and everything. I searched the internet for this problem and i found out that support of AMD-ATI stopped for old video cards. I tried cataloge update from Microsoft and drivers were failing to install. So i decided to take a risk and install Vista drivers from laptop's CD drive and it worked, pretty good too.
I uploaded the same driver i have in Windows7 in mediafire so you can download it from the link
How to istall:
1. Download and extract
2. Right click on "Computer icon" and select "Manage"
3. Select and expand "Display Adapters" from the list
4. Click on update drivers
5. When the window will show up select "Browse my Computer for driver software"
6. Location will be asked, simply let "C:\" and it will find and successfully install the drivers
7. Resart your machine and that's it :)
Good luck.
