Freedom

Whats the point in war says the young man,

no other countries nor conflicts he's seen,

Ignorant of the cost for some to vote,

how some would gladly die, or bleed,

What is sacrifice,
to those who speak and never see,
but carvings on walls,
and flags in movie scenes,

What is loss to those,
who've never had to leave,
Never received a letter,
that war so often brings,

What is a soldiers grave,
to a man he never knew,
But a stone cross and flowers,
for men he never knew,

What is freedom to the man,
who has always been free,
but a word in ink,
a blindman can never read.
